John Wayne Murdoch Takes Tournament of Survival 9 Trophy

Game Changer Wrestling’s Tournament of Survival is seen as one of the most prestigious tournaments in the deathmatch wrestling scene held each year in the United States. The ninth installment of the annual tournament took place on June 1st, 2024. “The Rabbit King” John Wayne Murdoch has achieved so much already in GCW, and the deathmatch scene as a whole, but one trophy that has eluded him is the Tournament of Survival. Murdoch made it to the finals of both the Tournament of Survival and Nick Gage Invitation last year only to finish the runner up. He also technically participated in the finals of the first TOS back in 2016 as an injury replacement. With an impressive field including several international talents, finally capturing that trophy would be no easy task for “The Duke of Hardcore”.

In the opening round of the tournament John Wayne Murdoch defeated a mystery opponent which ended up being the returning SLADE. In the second round Murdoch would square off against a man he knows all to well that this point, Brandon Kirk. Even with Kirk putting on the performance of his career, JWM took the victory advancing to the final round. In those finals Murdoch would have to get through BJW star and former two time BJW Death Match Champion, Yuki Ishikawa. After being so close so many times before, Murdoch knew what mistakes to avoid and eventually would best Isihikawa to finally claim a GCW Deathmatch Tournament Trophy! This tournament victory marks a record for deathmatch tournament wins when it comes to companies ran in the United States. With this win Murdoch passes Matt Tremont with 10 wins and the surefire future Hall of Famer has to be very proud of this achievement. Jobber Radio would like to congratulate John Wayne Murdoch as well as the most decorated deathmatch tournament wrestler in the United States.
