Rina Yamashita wins TOS 8

On June 3rd Game Changer Wrestling held it’s 8th Tournament of Survival event at The Showboat in Atlantic City. In 2023 TOS is seen as one of the most prestigious tournaments to be held in the deathmatch wrestling scene. For the first time in the tournament’s history 12 competitors stepped up to see who would be the last wrestler to survive. Four first round triple threat matches would see four people move on to the semi-finals for one on one action. The two winners of those matches would meet in the finals to see who would leave with the Tournament of Survival 8 trophy.

In round number one Rina Yamashita defeated Sawyer Wreck & Kasey Kirk in one of the most anticipated deathmatches of the year. In round two Rina would face fellow Japanese deathmatch star Toru Sugiura where she would be victorious in impressive fashion. Moving on the to final round Rina would have to go up against last years Nick Gage Invitaional winner and highly thought as one of the top American deathmatch wrestlers today, John Wayne Murdoch. With both wrestlers pulling out all the stops Rina Yamashita was able to finish Murdoch off with a Splash Mountain onto several light tubes and a chair. With that victory Rina Yamashita becomes the first woman to win Tournament of Survival and only the second Japanese wrestler to win a major GCW deathmatch tournament.
